Throughout my career, I've had the absolute pleasure of working alongside dozens of marketing teams, encouraging them to be bold, innovative, and—most importantly—to have fun whilst they do it.
I'm passionate about encouraging fearlessness, using data effectively, and fostering happiness at work. Happiness in your work life is genuinely important, and it's something I believe in wholeheartedly. In 2020, I studied to become a transformational life coach through Animas. I coached up to 18 people a month for around three months, working with everyone from someone wanting to get back into rowing to another who was struggling with anxiety issues in the boardroom. Each person I coached experienced positive success, but then I realised something quite wonderful—what I was doing as a coach was something I'd been doing throughout my entire marketing career.
As a marketing leader who's managed dozens of marketing teams, I've always believed in the power of enabling people to flourish. What I mean by that is I genuinely care about them as individuals. I want those under my guidance to become the very best version of themselves they aspire to be. I see myself as merely someone to facilitate and help them on their life's journey. So being a marketing coach and mentor has always been a significant part of what I do.
Has it been successful for marketers? Well, here's a lovely list of achievements from people I've worked with. Please note I've changed the names to respect their privacy:
My first-ever marketing executive is now a fractional CMO at a private equity house
My first-ever manager became a mum with three lovely children and is now a colourist
My first-ever assistant rose to be the Publishing Director of NME and is now an acupuncture expert
My second executive is now a freelance marketer after leading a growth function at a top UK HR firm
My second hire marketing manager rose through the ranks of Red Bull and is now a CMO
My third hire marketing manager is now a marketing adviser to founders
One of my senior marketing managers is now VP of a leading travel brand
One of my content editors is now the creative director at a leading B2B content agency
One of my junior marketing managers is now a VP of marketing at a leading US tax firm
I could go on—there are lots of them, as I've had the pleasure to work with so many brilliant marketers across my 20-year career.
Three years ago, I was approached to mentor a VP of marketing by one of my former bosses, which I gladly accepted. Since then, I've been mentoring and coaching marketers with great enthusiasm. That was the first time I did it as a professional coach, using all of my training combined with real-life examples.
So why work with me? Now more than ever, we are in a sea of change. Whether you are a marketing generalist, owner-founder, or small SME, it's hard to know what to do and which AI tools to use. I have a pragmatic approach based on real-life business experience, combined with a library of learning tools and hard-earned wisdom. Having worked in every industry from radio to publishing, SaaS to mergers and acquisitions, and private equity—across over 40 companies throughout my career—I can genuinely say I've been fortunate enough to experience most things the marketing world has to offer.
I don't have a set playbook. I listen to your needs and personalise my approach for each individual. Sometimes it's hands-on advice, other times it's goal setting, and this is mixed with examples from my experience. I find that those I work with value this approach. I'm not just setting goals for them—I'm sharing tools from my learning library and also helping them to understand the thinking and processes which will enable them to flourish. So get in touch if you want to start your coaching and mentorship.

journey.
